Draw VS. Paint

DRAWING PROGRAMS
- Drawing programs create images composed of objects (eg. squares, circles etc.) The objects can have properties such as colours and line thickness.
- These objects can easily be editted. Examples, moving the image and resizing the image.
- Drawing programs create VECTOR files.
- An example of a drawing program is Inkscape.

PAINT PROGRAMS
- Paint programs create image pixel by pixel. In other words, there are no objects. The computer does not identify what you have drawn as a shape, but instead saves the image pixel by pixel.
- Files they create are called BITMAPPED.
- Example of a paint program is Adobe Photoshop and Gimp.
